E’ una mano robotica made in Italy di ultima generazione ed è stata impiantata in modo permanente per la prima volta al mondo su una donna in Svezia. L’intervento è stato eseguito su una paziente di 45 anni e la mano robotica è stata costruita grazie al progetto europeo DeTOP, guidato da Christian Cipriani, dell’Istituto di BioRobotica della Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa. Si sta lavorando in vista di altri due interventi, da eseguire in Italia e in Svezia.

L’impianto potrà essere utilizzato nella vita di tutti i giorni e consentirà di controllare in modo naturale la mano robotica e di restituirne le percezioni sensoriali. La svolta è arrivata all’interno del progetto di ricerca europeo Detop (Dexterous Transradial Osseointegrated Prosthesis with neural control and sensory feedback), coordinato dall’Istituto di BioRobotica della Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa e finanziato dalla Commissione Europea all’interno del programma Horizon 2020.
