La promozione della salute mentale è diventata un obiettivo fondamentale da perseguire per l’Europa, come chiaramente sostenuto nel Piano d’azione Europeo per la salute mentale redatto nel 2013.

Questo piano d’azione è guidato da valori quali l’equità, dunque l’opportunità di ottenere la migliore condizione possibile di benessere e un’assistenza adeguata e proporzionata alle esigenze di ciascuno, l’empowerment delle persone, favorendo l’indipendenza e la consapevolezza di sé e l’efficienza dei sistemi sanitari.

Partendo da questi propositi e facendo riferimento al tema della giornata mondiale della salute mentale 2021, il focus di questa sessione sarà relativo alle disuguaglianze nelle sue molteplici forme e alle disparità nell’accesso ai servizi di trattamento. L’impegno è quello di promuovere un nuovo senso di responsabilità volta a favorire giustizia sociale e cultura dell’equità.
