Un’inchiesta sulle nuove frontiere della sanità: l’avatar di un medico che ci risponde 24 ore su 24, sistemi per seguire da remoto l’evoluzione di ogni patologia, dalle cardiopatie all’asma, al diabete, fino alle malattie neurodegenerative; un database al servizio dei malati oncologici, che raccolga tutte le cure per scegliere la migliore, interventi a distanza con robot comandati da un chirurgo in un altro continente: non è un’utopia. Competenze e innovazioni ci sono già: e se mettessimo in rete ospedali, laboratori di analisi, studi medici, università, sviluppatori informatici? Quale sarebbe l’impatto sul benessere delle persone e sulla spesa sanitaria? Secondo uno studio del Politecnico di Milano, utilizzando il digitale in modo sistematico sarebbe possibile risparmiare ogni anno circa 7 miliardi di euro nella sanità e altri 7,6 miliardi di produttività per i cittadini, grazie a un miglior utilizzo del tempo: quasi 15 miliardi all’anno che di fatto stiamo sprecando.

Il ministero della Salute investe oltre un miliardo l’anno in un piano per la digitalizzazione, ma il sistema è frammentato in 21 organizzazioni regionali. Esiste una regia per mettere insieme tutti i pezzi? Un modello di ospedale come nodo di una rete globale e un’organizzazione del lavoro che punti ad abbattere gli errori, gli sprechi e la perdita di tempo dei cittadini, potrebbe essere uno stimolo alla crescita dell’economia nazionale?
